I've tried googling this and I'm getting nowhere, so I might as well ask... my browser's not letting me log into sites. I think it may be secure servers, since I'm okay for webmail but can't get into eBay, Paypal, Blockbuster Video or my university account; I think this happened after I ran spyware, but I've tried doing a restore on Spybot and Ad Aware and it hasn't helped. I downloaded Mozilla but I still can't log in.

Anybody know what might be causing this?

Have your cookies been reset? That would be my first guess.

*flails* I've deleted the cookies and the temporary files but that's the extent of my cookie-knowledge...

It's your cookie settings I'm thinking about. They'll be under options in whichever browser you're using and you should be set to accept them. Other than that I have no clue. Sorry.

Hmm, I'm already set to accept cookies...

Thanks anyway!

This may be useless, but you mentioned Mozilla, so... A few weeks ago when I installed Firefox for the first time, it wouldn't let me access any secure sites protected by SSL. I finally got it to stop being buggy by fiddling with the security SSL settings (Tools > Options > Advanced > Security > fiddle about unchecking & then rechecking all 3 SSL/TLS buttons). Since Firefox is made by Mozilla, the Mozilla browser might have the same bug.

Didn't work, but thank you anyway!

Give this a try?

Go to Tools, then Internet Options. Under Security, click the icon that says "Trusted Sites". Add the urls of any sites that you stumble across that it won't let you into, save your changes, and try to go there again.

This usually works. Hope it helps!
