Feb. 4th, 2005 10:40 pmI haven't scored over 60 on anybody's. The people who live with me all got 50 on this. Two people got 100, which awes and frightens me *g*
What's my absolute favourite season of Buffy?
a) Two (Angelus!)
b) Four (Riley!)
c) Three (The Mayor!)
d) Seven (Kennedy!)
As I rewatch the show, it's more and more evident that while I love the high school stuff, season 4's my favourite. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm a university student, I just love the setup and I like where everyone is at this point in canon: Giles is having tons of sex with Olivia and Joyce is having flings with hot young men and blowing off work to smoke pot during the day (she *is*) and Willow isn't exhibiting quite what a little control freak she is yet and Xander's doing a different job each week (he works on a phone sex line at one point, doesn't he? I'm sure it says so in The Yoko Factor) and Riley and Graham are around and Spike's snarky and unhelpful and chained up in Giles' bath and Buffy has this cute new thing with Riley... yeah. I just love season 4. Adam pretty much sucked, but aside from that, it was great. It also has most of my favourite rewatch-ad-infinitum episodes - Superstar, Hush, Something Blue, The Yoko Factor, Restless.
And besides all that, it's the place in canon where I can see almost any relationship. Spike/Xander, for example; I see the subtext, I think they're both hot and interesting characters, and yet Spander doesn't work for me at all... until you shove them in that basement and amp up the snark (I'm aware how cliche this setup is and I don't care. Basement S/X!)Then there's the Xander/Riley, Buffy/Giles, Buffy/Spike, Spike/Willow, Giles/Anya, Riley/Willow, Xander/Graham, Giles/Oz, Buffy/Tara etc - basically, it's the Year of the Slut, and that's how I like it, thank you very much.
Vive la saison quatre.
The Angel episode I'm banned from watching when I'm particularly emotional is:
a) Home
b) Hero
c) I Will Remember You
d) You're Welcome
Yup. You know me, prefer the Spuffy and the Angel/Cordy to the B/A, but even so... get me drunk, hormonal or somehow unbalanced and I become an amazingly annoying believer in Buffy and Angel's True and Eternal Love and Soulmate Whatever OMG. Except for the time when I was incredibly drunk and bawled at the end of Tabula Rasa.
Which reviled episode do I love and cherish?
a) Go Fish
b) Bad Eggs
c) The Girl in Question
d) All of the above
Go Fish had Gage. My beautiful Gage! And my love for TGIQ is deep and irrational. I can't recall exactly why I love Bad Eggs, but I really do.
Which of these is untrue:
a) My very, very first 'ship was Buffy/Giles.
b) For my first few episodes of Angel I assumed Cordelia was Connor's mother and got very confused.
c) I think Angel's hotter in AtS season 5 than he was on Buffy.
d) The Willow/Kennedy scene in Touched is my favourite scene in all of Buffy.
a) True. I mean, it was joined (and eventually superceded) by Buffy/Spike in the space of time between Standing and the end of OMWF, but I believe the first Buffy site I ever visited was buffygiles.com.
b) Not true, though I know casual viewers who did think this, and were thinking so *right* up until the shagging in Rain of Fire. Confused doesn't cover it.
c) Skinny Angel freaks me out.
d) I love that scene.
If I could make a spinoff it'd be about:
a) Dawn! Studying languages!
b) Joyce! Solving mysteries!
c) Nina! Being a werewolf!
d) Kennedy! Slaying stuff!
I think most people picked c, right? My show would be about Joyce. She'd solve mysteries with Tara and Andrew and Graham and possibly Oz. And Nina would manage the gallery for her.
I think Buffy's One True Love was:
a) Angel
b) Riley
c) Spike
d) none of them
My position on this is that she loved/loves them all in different ways, none of the three relationships invalidates or lessens the other two, and I wish more shipper fic of all varieties would just quit with bashing other relationships already. Also, Buffy needs to date lots of really hot guys/girls in Italy and eventually hook up with Gunn.
Also, her true love is Owen, kthnxbye.
The one onscreen kiss/boyslash textual moment that I really, really wish had happened would have been between
a) Spike and Xander
b) Spike and Angel
c) Angel and Wesley
d) Wesley and Spike
Spike and Angel. Pretty 'eh' on the other three pairings - though the Normal Again daily is beyond cute and makes me suspect I'm a Marsters/Brendon shipper.
How'd I like Angel season 5?
a) Best. Thing. Ever. Season 5 can do no wrong!
b) I loved it to tiny pieces but I get why others hated it/thought the show had jumped the shark.
c) Eh, not the show at its best, but watchable.
d) Damn, that sucked.
I love season 5, but I tend to apologize a bit for it. I think the main things people hated were what I loved: the change in format from mega-arcs to lots of standalones, the gang moving to Wolfram & Hart. There were things I really wish had been done differently (Lilah she said, in the italics of wistful sadness, as well as what was done with Lindsey), but it's the season I can see myself rewatching the most.
How about that Buffy season 7?
a) We do not speak of that season.
b) It had its moments, but it's not one of my favourites.
c) I'm Switzerland, I have no strong opinion either way.
d) Dude, it had Kennedy, it had Holden, and it had the First Evil quoting Star Wars. It rocked.
Was there any doubt? Okay, given how much I whinge about the plotholes, there was. But I did love season 7. If nothing else, I would love it for Conversations With Dead People, both for Holden and the moment when the First quotes fucking Star Wars. Ah, it'll always be my favourite incorporeal personification of evil.
What's my shameful fanfic secret?
a) I'm frequently beset with the urge to write comedy fluffy Buffy/Riley babyfic.
b) I write schmoopy Spuffy romance under another pseud.
c) My guilty fic pleasure's mpreg.
d) I've written shameless Angel/Nina/me Mary Sue but haven't put it online.
:hides face: Well... she gets knocked up by Spike and Angel all the time and, and, it was a ficathon request I flaked on but am going to write so it wasn't as if I made it up and... nah, got no excuse.
C'mon, who guessed b? (Not that I'm not sometimes tempted, on a review-whore level)

on 2005-02-04 11:54 pm (UTC)I'm thoroughly surprised I did as well as laurence and mary (I don't how to put in usernames with funny blue letters - if it's not buying toys on ebay, i don't care how this computer works), seeing as I've watched a trillionth of the episodes of Angel that you have. Go Team Andrew.
