My presentation went... well, it went. It wasn't the best I've ever done, but I got 70%, so I was able to just collapse in relief and sleep for 16 hours.

I'm sure five of those percentage points were for referencing Star Wars, Star Trek and Buffy.

Anyway, now I just have to start panicking about my thesis, but I'm taking tonight off and catching up on Desperate Housewives. Now that she's gotten over her bewilderment at a dead woman narrating, my mum loves the show. We *never* like the same things, but given that she shares Bree's sometimes-manic fetish for perfection, I suppose it was to be expected. (I continue to love Bree. So much. She'd be the world's most efficient assassin or vampire slayer, or both.)

shaddyr's been talking about Writercon 2006 and... I'm giving serious thought to going. I mean, if I'm earning money and can get the time off. connorbeast has insisted that if it's in Vegas again I'm not allowed to drink, because I'll get hammered and decide it's a swell idea to get married.

Hmmmm... you know, I've never ever been to a con, of any sort. I might possibly just consider that one too. When is it and how much is it?

I've been to the Belfast cons - to see the Trio and Keith Szarabajka (Holtz) - and they were fun but I'd love to go to one that was more fandom/fanfic orientated. The problem with Writercon is that it's in America (Vegas last time) which is obviously not all that convenient. Unless I can convince my university there's something astronomically important I have to go to Nevada for sometime in summer 2006...
