As part of the Alice in Wonderland/Rabbithole day craziness, sdwolfpup's journal has been turned over to the pure love of Buffy and Owen (from season 1's Never Kill a Boy on the First Date)

This works out nicely for me, because I love the episode, love Owen and his proto-Rileyness, and I got to snag me a snazzy new icon. Offy 4eva.

I've been rewatching season 1, and Buffy/Cordy's just there. It actually surprised me how much screentime they have together; it wasn't something I'd picked up on first time through the show. And I get why it was written that way, besides Cordelia's role as the Mean Girl Nemesis - they're both great in these scenes, both on the surface level of the chemistry and snark, and in the peeling back of layers (Out of Mind Out of Sight being the example that leaps to my mind).

Buffy *was* Cordelia not so long before we first met her - she says as much to Angel in Helpless. And Cordelia (somewhat) becomes Buffy as she gets the visions and her own mission.

Sure I hate looking and feeling like this, but - if I lose the visions, I wouldn't be able to help you anymore. You wouldn't need me. - Cordelia, That Vision Thing

Getting beyond the fact that they're not-dissimilar hot chicks with superpowers (well, for some of canon, in Cordy's case) - they'd be *fun*. There'd be endless bitchy arguments and fashion clashes and shopping for shoes. Cordelia, like Gunn (tying nicely into my next squee) would keep Buffy grounded, stop her from getting too far into her I Am the Mission, I Am the Law bit.

In conclusion, I would kill for a long, plotty story that puts them together some time in the high school years. And people should send me stuff for Volcano Girls (http://www.exitseraphim.net/volcanogirls) or join buffycordelia.

It's on the list of pairings that I've always meant to write but somehow never managed to. They're both close to the top of my list of favourite characters and they've got parallels coming out of their *ears* - like Dawn, Connor was put into a family and everyone's memory changed so he'd always been there, but unlike her he had a life prior to that, and there's all sorts of interesting things could come out of that...

There's also the metaphysics. Neither of them should exist (child of two vampires, mystical energy made human) and they were specifically created for - I was going to write 'evil' but come to think of it, the Key was made Dawn-shaped and sent to Buffy to prevent Glory from opening the rift between dimensions and ending all existence. Connor's birth was manipulated by Jasmine, who you could look at as a great evil or a great good.

Add into the mix the fact that they're both teenagers, they have similar personalities (post-Origin, anyway) and the history between his dad and her sister... yeah, there needs to be more Connor/Dawn.

Connor/Dawn Have you checked out honorh's new WIP "Past Perfect" over on FanFic.Net? Connor/Dawn pairing. Also, hjcallipygian has a Connor/Dawn pairing in his WIP, "Of Those Chosen: The Dreamless". I recommend both.

If there's anybody who deserves the adoration of (and tons of sex with) a gorgeous younger man, it's Joyce. There's no better time for this to happen than season 4, when she's got the house to herself and is free to do whatever she likes, probably for the first time since she married Hank. And look, there's Graham, all studly and available and underused in fic. And I'm not saying he had a crush on Maggie Walsh, but I don't think there's enough canon to say either way, so it's something to think about...

I'll admit that quit a lot of the time I write stuff that isn't incredibly deep (and would do this even more frequently if I wrote longer stuff). My default setting is '[romantic] comedy with vampires' and Joyce fits into that very nicely. I think she's a rebellious minx under the veneer of respectable single mom, and with Graham as her strait-laced straight man, you've got your screwball comedy set-up right there. Throw into the mix the fact that Graham's best friend is dating Joyce's daughter and the Initiative/Slayer secret identities, and you've got a comedy of errors. Which, admittedly, would put most people right off. But that's my thing, so it makes me happy.
