You had Dom/Xander in your interests, so... a pointless piece of nonsense. Bear in mind I've read maybe 2 LoTRips fics total, so this is probably crap *g*
Dom's not sure which surprises him more; that vampires are real, or that Xander's never seen Lord of the Rings.
"What, not any of them?" he says, as they duck behind the corner.
Xander motions him backwards with his pointy stick - that's a stake, that is, Dom thinks, an *actual stake* for shoving through vampires' hearts - and says, "I was always going to, but stuff kept coming up. Apocalypses, demon uprisings..."
"Demons? Seriously?"
"...and Andrew has the extended editions on DVD, but I've been picking up Slayers all over, haven't had a chance to watch them..."
Dom's barely listening, stuck on the mention of demons. In his head, demons look like the vampires (fucking hell, vampires are real), only even more warped; faces deformed like orcs, only they won't be sitting in a set canteen drinking tea through false fangs, and they won't be peeling their makeup off later.
This is easily, hands down, the most interesting thing that's happened to him in his entire life.
Xander peers cautiously around the wall. "I think they're gone."
"Maybe they turned into bats and flew away?" he suggests, trying to be useful. Xander flashes him a grin, clearly a veteran humouring the new kid in the playground.
Right. All safe again. He shouldn't feel disappointed on the walk back to his hotel. Probably shouldn't be trying to think about excuses to see the weird one-eyed bloke again, either. Seems a dangerous sort to hang around with.
Still, before he's got too far down the street Dom shouts, "What about Lost? Seen any of that?"
