Things I learned from swapping friends lists with shirasade for a day:


- smaller lists are so much easier to read.

- shirasade's layout is lovely.

- gosh, an awful lot of people like Dominic Monaghan. I need to watch Lost.

- there's a troyslash community (which I have now joined). I was reading a collection of Boris Johnson's articles the other day, and one was about the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal; Boris describes Tony Blair supporting his bestest friend Bill "like a latter-day Achilles and Patroclus". I giggled a lot.

- my favourite quote: I wanna make out in a lego, dammit.

- there's LoTR fic (character fic, not RPS) that isn't written in the style of the books. You have no idea how happy this makes a philistine like me who prefers the movies. I especially loved the_danamark's stuff.

- ooh, a wolverinerogue comm.

- tpm_flashback. I haven't seen a Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan story in years. That takes me back. :nostalgia:

- I got very confused over the popslash comms because I was thinking "okay, JC and Chris are members of N*Sync, right? ...or is it the Backstreet Boys? Am I absolutely sure they're not the same band?"

Hee. I work in the music department of a Department store, and it's always a toss up to me when a N*Sync song comes on. Do I a)admit to liking the song and face taunting, or b) let the guys change the channel?
They usually change the channel. Now when the New Kids on the Block songs come on? That's a different story. ;)

*nod* See, I'm the same way about the Spice Girls. Because they were the band that I listened to when I was like 9, and took great pride in knowing all their lyrics.

The fact that I can still recite most of their songs verbatim is just an amusing side effect of my OCD, I assure you.

Through the many popslashers on my flist, I could probably now name you every member of N*Sync. In fact, my flist taught me who the fuck Justin Timberlake was.
