Yum. I just got back from late breakfast with other grad-student types from my department. It was a very nice place, even if they had the Dirty Dancing soundtrack on a loop.

Tonight [livejournal.com profile] thecount_ha and our friend John are hosting a "late Thanksgiving/ early Christmas-Hanukkah-Kwanzaa thing" at which I expect much consuming of the food and the beverages. The boys are doing the cooking. My contribution is in the appreciation of the cooking, which is also valuable.

Running models again today. It's now taking an hour or so for each to run. Now, in that time, would you expect me to be making a start on:
a) my thesis, or
b) my Secret Slasha fic?
Yeah. That's what I thought too.

It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. ;)

And if not me, then who? Who?! *g*

I have begun neither SS nor Yuletide.
I have a full-time job.
I think I'll fake a kidnapping to get out of this. At least I have a plot for the SS... it's been so long since I've seen any of the Yuletide canon, and even my watching of that is relatively patchy! I shall make the Horrible Canon Errors. Oh yes I shall.

My problem for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide is that I used to know the show really well but haven't seen it in years. I watched an old video to get a feel for the voices and while I'm pretty sure I can write these characters, there are bits of dialogue I've done that I may be subconsciously stealing directly from the show...

Something about the idea of three Irish people celebrating Kwanzaa cracks me up...

Have a great meal!
