doyle: tardis (1 dimensional cellular automata (yay for)

I'm back! I missed all of you. Last week was Freshers' Week so the libraries were full of baby students using my computers. Theoretically I should have been getting a computer in the astrophysics department tomorrow but I've managed to contract some horrible disease which [livejournal.com profile] marymac cruelly insists is just a cold and probably not tuberculosis. Either way, I'm hacking up my lungs and sleeping 18 hours a day, so going to stay here with my parents a couple of days. It means missing the first weeks of my labs, which is both annoying and really worrying me as the getting-left-behind-in-the-first-week demons start up in my brain.

Also [livejournal.com profile] connorbeast fed me codeine and it made my room full of invisible spiders.

I want to use the couple of days off to finish off my stray ficathon entries (because that would leave me free after about a year) but everything I sit down to write turns out about as coherent and interesting as, well, this entry.

So anyway, how've you all been?

You live! So to speak, anyway; I was starting to worry.

Aww, [livejournal.com profile] marymac gives me that when I'm sick. Well, until the time she put about ten times too much lemon in...

Because someone used all the honey.
You gave me your cold you evil evil woman.
Grrrr. Esther says I can't kill you. You need to start worshipping her right about now.

Oh yay! You're back!

Sleep is insanely good for a cold. So is toast with butter. It fills you up so you don't feel all gurgly and it's not that heavy. Plus rinse out your mouth with salty water. *nods*

Plus tea is always good.

Welcome back! I've missed your entertaining entries and, frankly, was a bit worried about you. Glad to hear that you're mostly okay, though you have my sympathies for having tuberculosis. (I'll believe you!)

Take care and load up on chicken soup.

Ohh, sick is not good. And people hogging your computers is not good. But I hope the rest and relaxation does you good.

They've confirmed Andy Hallett for Quor'Toth! But we still haven't heard about our VK or KS. Hrmf.

Ooh, Andy Hallett was supposed to be at the con I went to this year but had to pull out through sickness. I hope they can get VK and KS...

I hope they can get VK and KS...

Ditto, with a fierce, insane passion. Non-stalker-like, naturally. Hee!

But listening to Andy is a dream and a half so...yis. Although your mission is now to get BETTER. Soon!

Your icon baffles me! Is there a shiny explanation?

Hope you feel much better very soon!

I love my icon. It's a one-dimensional cellular automata, a self-propagating pattern. Each line is a generation and the cells can be born, survive or die depending on how many neighbours they have. The 2d ones look spectacular. :pats it:

Yay! You're back.

Sorry to hear about the horrible cold. I find that fresh ginger mixed with honey and lemon juice in hot water is excellent for that kind of thing. Well it works for me anyway. Hope you feel much better soon.

There you are! ::hugs you carefully, from a distance, with one of those robot arm things that you use to handle scary stuff while staying safely in a nice hermetically-sealed bubble::

You should write the invisible spiders into your ficathon stories. They sound like fun :-)

Completely knackered atm.. jetlag's a bitch..

Hope the cold's getting licked (metaphorically), and I'll see you all soon.
