Random thoughts while watching Becoming...

- damn, season 2 is good.
- Drusilla's fantastic.
- DB was so *thin*. It's freaky.
- pre-insanity Drusilla's scene in the church: a mine? In London? What the hell?
- ooh. Ooh, Xander and Giles yelling at each other. Good scene.
- Buffy/Kendra 4eva
- Angel calling Spike 'boy'. Canon. It is.
- so Whistler and Angel drive from Manhattan to Los Angeles? That's got to be one fun roadtrip. If there's not fic, there should be.
- 1996? Hey, Buffy got called a year earlier than I thought. I always thought she was 16 in this flashback, not 15.
- 'someone wasn't worthy' - ahahaha.

Season 2 of Buffy is key to life.

Becoming 1 & 2 are still my favorite Buffy episode ever.

The vampire messenger Angelus sends to the school: brilliant scene.

Yup, the ammount of blokes queueing to go down the mine you see in Central London is incredible, especially as we're built on clay and gravel. The nearest coalfield is in Kent.
Methinks the ME writers all failed History as well as Maths.

Dude. Yes. I loved Whistler, and him + scruffy Angel driving around? Now I want to read this right now. Maybe he let Angel drive! Taught him about butcher shops! Got him a haircut?

Ah, S2 is damn fine. Just watching 'Lie to Me' - man, that last speech of Giles's breaks my heart.

Peasant on Dru and mines

There are mines in Southern England, notably the coal mines in Kent, and nearer still to London the chalk mines at Chislehurst, near Crystal Palace, on the outskirts of London. (Chalk was an important ingredient for many industrial processes in the nineteenth century.) Her father could have easily worked at either of these with the family living close enough to London to explain how Angelus and Darla spotted them there. This was after all the Victorian era – when commuting was invented.

And I believe her.

Season 2 is still the best. Spike is so Angelus' boy.

I like the commuting explanation. Now, if only we could sort out the nuns in Jamestown *g*

There is no explaination for that. The writers were on crack. LOL

My favorite bit? Innocence, the forehead kiss, of course. But watch carefully: Right before Angel lays the kiss on Spike's forehead, they both stick out their tongues, just a leeeedle bit. Canon. Canon, bitches!

I love the dynamic between Angelus, Dru and Spike. And prior to the soul-losing, in Lie to Me, when Angel tries to get the two of them out of town without - say - staking them. That makes me want to draw little bloody hearts on things <3

More random thoughts:

-Xander's love spell
-the last scene in Innocence still makes me cry.
-the swamp men in Go Fish still gives me nightmares! The scene with the nurse? Ugh, something about being eaten...:shudders:

Joyce is resplendent. She deserves a spinoff.

I haven't watched Go Fish for a while - since I recently found the DVD I'd lost, maybe that should be next up.

Ok, but be prepared...

hmm interesting observations... perhaps you should write the road trip fic.

Season 2 is my absolute fave. This is the Angel that I drool over, lust after, dream about. Well, okay, there is an equal amount of drool over Angelus and Spike.
