and yeah, you know anya with her mouth would have said just about anything else right away. giles became this kind of bar to live up to. he was the only one who didn't cut her slack or put her down (well, *usually*). he gave her her job, her 'place in the world'. and how friggin cute were they in Tabula Rasa?
