:rushing in between fits of revision:

There's no content there yet, but I've been setting up the [livejournal.com profile] ats_endofdays archive. Minimalist as usual (= I can do tables but not much else) Would somebody mind taking a look, seeing if it looks okay in Netscape and/or 800x600?

It's very pretty! The banner's just a weeeeeee too big for 800x600 - without scrolling over to the side, maximized browser, it cuts off at Wesley's nose, at "one challe". Resizing from 800 width to 750 should do the trick.

I'm on IE 800x600 and it looks good to me. Top banner was okay, but perhaps you've resized base on Sally_ann's suggestion?

Also, made me tear up over the Doyle quote.

It renders just fine in Opera, which - at least in my experience - tends to be even pickier than most Netscapes.

Well done.

Is that it? Am I done?

Big, big OW. Especially today. I'm so excited and thankful that you're doing this. All that lovely fic and art will be a great comfort in the SpikeandAngel-less days to come.

Think of it as me throwing myself around fandom's collective ankles and whimpering "don't leave me yet, please!" *g*

Heeheehee. You put Connor next to Wesley. *beams*

It's absolutely lovely, darling.

That placement was pure coincidence... it really, really wasn't

Thank you!

I think it looks smashing (IE, 800by600). I'm a big believer in minimalist. :)

Thanks! :)

And yeah, I'm not a fan of cluttered webpages. Which is good, because I couldn't code them...

[identity profile] roseveare.livejournal.com 2004-05-19 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Personally, I'm very fond of pages I can actually read and navigate. :)

I don't think it's necessary to have huge images and bags of code and extra frills to make a site look striking. Simple and effective makes me happy.

No useful content about the page, but 1) pretty! 2) the quotation made me cry. Perfect.

Using Firefox for Mac OS X (a branch-off of Mozilla, upon which Netscape was once based), looks fine, except that the quote (however touching, awwww) is really really hard to see. It is too small, and on a Mac, it looks very odd at that size. But it looks great when I increase the text size once.

I think it looks very clean and appropriate. I like it quite a lot. :) Although, there is still a scroll bar (while you don't actually need to scroll, the bar is still there). I'm on IE 800X600. I suggest minimizing the table width from 800 to 750 or so, which should eliminate the scroll bar (because technically you have an invisible table spanning past the actual content).
