It's raining hyppogriffs...

Pimping the Whedonverse AU Ficathon. That's total out of canon AUs (everybody's human or where vampires and so forth still exist but it's still completely different from the series). Most of the signups are B/A but you can request anybody. Come on, you know you want :picks examples at random: Spike and Angel as arctic explorers or Buffy and Cordelia as cheerleaders having a secret affair...

Thanks for the pimpage!
We're hoping to get a lot more pairings requeste, but so far it's a lot of B/A because *Stars* and I mostly know B/Aers. Aall pairings are welcome though!

Hee!

Oh man, I was just rejoicing yesterday about freedom and then...you wave this in front of me. Yikes!

*curls up into a little, tempted ball*

Arctic exploreres! I want to read that now!

Buffy and Cordelia are having a secret affair anyway. But that has to be written. Nod.

Damn - that is *so* tempting. I had just about decided I have nothing left to say about the Whedonverse, but hmmm. . .

Buffy and Cordelia as cheerleaders having a secret affair...
Wait, isn't that canon? I could swear there was a shower scene in "The Witch".

Ooh, I love your signup request.

Since you are the Patron Saint of Ficathons, I thought I'd seek your advice:

Hypothetically speaking, if one was planning a hypothetical Gen Ficathon, when would be, hypothetically speaking, the best time for it to be run?

This is all hypothetically speaking, obviously. I'm certainly not planning on starting one up just because I have a sudden need for slash-free Riley-and-Xander-watching-vietnam-movies-and-playing-grand-theft-auto. Nope. Certainly not.

Hee! Best time would probably be with a deadline after June 15th, at the earliest, since there are a bunch of ficathons due between now and then. I'd suggest avoiding the first, last and middle days of the month since everybody picks those and it means 3 or 4 ficathons going up on the same day.

[identity profile] briargate.livejournal.com 2004-05-01 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
So really, an ideal time would be something like sign-ups last til about June 11th, with fics due on August the 11th? Which would be good as it'd give a long sign-up period hopefully resulting in lots of yummy gen fic. I'll do that then!

I mean, that's if I actually--

....oh bugger. *slinks of to write up the rules and stuff*

[identity profile] hallucinogenia.livejournal.com 2004-05-01 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
You need to stop talking about all these Ficathons. Seriously. I just don't have the time, but they're all so...enticing.... *resigned sigh* I don't suppose there's a Holtz one, is there?

[identity profile] doyle_sb4.livejournal.com 2004-05-01 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, but will most definitely let you know if one turns up!
