When did you write your first "Fanfiction" piece? What was it for?:
It was actually RPS. Fluffy-yet-snarky tame RPS about Mark and Robbie from Take That. What, I was eleven...

Did you actually post it anywhere?:
No, thank god. Though I wish I still had it, it'd be good for a laugh.

What series have you written fanfics for? (both posted stories, and non-posted stories):
Buffy, Angel, Queer as Folk UK. Way back in the distant depths of time, Due South, The X-Files (appalling Mulder/Scully 4eva!!1! shipper fic, thankfully before the internet when I didn't even know anybody else did this) and Star Trek Voyager. Oh, and the Garak/Bashir stuff I used to write in class at age 12 out of sheer frustration at not being able to get my grubby little mits on slash zines. (I had, and probably still have, zine flyers which I sent away to America for - they had story extracts and even for the fandoms I'd never heard of, like Forever Knight, I knew those extracts by heart. I was a tragically hoyay deprived child.)

Any Original Characters (ones that got named) that you had inhabit the series universes? If so- who/where? (yes, this is where we embarrass you by revealing your dark secrets!):
Dex, a college friend of Connor's in All Souls. Everyone but Ethan and Dawn in Silent Upon a Peak in Darien. My original characters tend to get completely screwed over by the canon lot (Dex and her unborn child are brutally murdered; Ethan wrecks everybody's life just by being there)

If you had the chance to have the original creator turn any of your fanfic into an actual real piece, which story would you choose?
Crime and Punishment because I would kill to see Connor and Spike interaction onscreen.

Do you have any weird music quirks that help you write?
Not as such, but I have a bookshelf full of poetry books that spark off ideas quite a bit.

What are common "themes" you hide in your stories?
Reality is not reality, people are not who they seem.

What are your favorite characters to write POVs from?
Fred, because she is me and I can work in a ton of physics references (and justify fic research as 'stuff for class'.) Dawn's always fun. So is Xander.

What story of yours do you wish more people would read and love?
Hmm, I almost always get more feedback than I expect - and sadly I suck at replying to it but I do keep it all for future ego-trips vastly appreciate it - so I don't sit going 'this deserves more feedback!' I suppose if I had to pick one I'd go for The River As Seen From Above: when I started writing Buffy fanfic a year ago I hadn't written anything for five years, and it kind of shows, but this was my first fic to break 3000 words (don't laugh) and the first to feed my already mentioned reality-is-not-reality kink. It was originally called A Glitch in the Matrix but that made the twist more obvious than it already is, so that eventually became a Cordelia/Lilah fic with a riff on the same theme (Doyle is kept replaying a time when he was happy as a reward in the afterlife, Cordelia is kept replaying a time when she was happy so Wolfram and Hart can keep her asleep and out of the way)

If you could pick a specific scene of your story to be made into a comic-book/doujinshi format, what scene from what fanfic would you pick?
It's not a scene but 21 Dreams in Sunnydale and LA was written with a comic in mind - I can't draw worth a damn but I can see exactly what the 21 pages look like. (One of these, the Cordelia one, became a story. The Giles and Jonathan ones are lifted wholesale from unfinished fics.)

And last but not least- Why do you like writing fanfiction?
I love all the characters (I hate that Eve has finally slithered her way into a tiny portion of my heart, or at least my interest). I like putting them together, see how they interact in ways we never got to see on the show.

Well, well, well. Someone comes out of her RPS closet! *BG*

You know Kita's running an RPS ficathon, I'm sure. Pick your own characters, pick your own adventure.

I hear Vincent/Alexis calling your name...

I definitely did not see the RPS ficathon announcement and think "James Marsters/Robbie Williams". At all.

I have no idea who Robbie Williams is, but now I must enable you with chocolate and kisses. Do it do it do it do it!

*g* Robbie Williams is now a solo-singer, but was one of the aforementioned members of Take That, who started their career performing in gay clubs and rolling semi-clothed in jello, which tragically I have never seen... And would be very hot with James Marsters

*dies*

That is quite possibly one of the most disturbing mental images ever. Do it!

::DIES LAUGHING::

Doyle, where the fuck did THAT come from???? ;)

[identity profile] doyle_sb4.livejournal.com 2004-04-30 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Possibly listening to Escapology and going on every track "that's such a Spike song". Plus the ambiguous gayness of Robbie makes him easy to slash...

Can I just laugh at how fast the recruitment officers got here?

Heeeeee.

You know, if I had to make a list of people I need to spend more time around, [livejournal.com profile] ros_fod and [livejournal.com profile] doyle_sb4 would be right on top.

::hearts you both, even though we don't hang out nearly enough::

Awwww, baby, I heart you madly. My legs door is always open. :)

*whispers James/Dom over and over again into your ear*

Did you see the amazing James/Elijah Annie wrote for our MoodRings project? It's on one of the later pages ... "Dorky".

Ooooooh...*eyes glaze over*

Reading your project's on my top list of priorities for this weekend, pumpkin seed.

I can't wait!

So, so true.

You wrote Garak/Bashir? Hee! You know, that was very probably my first slash pairing, back before I really even knew enough about fandom to know what slash pairings where.
