Jeff Bell, recapping this season:

"We’ve asked ourselves the question, ‘Can a bunch of outsiders who are fighting evil go into the belly of the beast and change it from the inside without being changed ourselves?’ And that’s one of the things we’re trying to get to. Another issue we’ve got is this whole prophecy thing. Does it mean anything? What does it mean to Angel, to Spike? Will Spike and Angel ever kiss?"

:dies and is ded:

(Now I'm trying to find that interview where - Drew Goddard, was it? Said that the one thing they always, always wanted to do on Buffy was have Spike and Xander kiss and it just never happened. I'm sure I didn't dream that...)

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] snidgemma points out that it was in fact Drew Greenberg. And we have the video evidence.

I don't know about Goddard but Greenberg did (http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/buffy/interviews/greenberg2/page4.shtml) :D

God, I wish they would. Just for the hell of it. Like, in the last episode. For some reason or no reason at all. Have them kiss and share a look and not talk about it, just keep on fighting.

It would be a message to the current political situation, and make a lot of people very happy besides. I've always said, if Joss doesn't dare to have two men kiss on his show, no one will.

I have hope. A tiny, tiny bit of hope, but it's hope. *crosses fingers*

There are so many reasons why I am Jeff Bell's whore.

Not that Jeff knows this of course, but I maintain the hope that if I camp out in his bushes long enough he'll eventually start to notice me.

Jeff Bell and Tim Minear, I shall forever be their minion, and they shall rule wisely in my universe. (For Minear was the one who said his favourite pairing was Angel/Lindsey.)

*goes back to stalking them*

Not to mention "It's not me you want to screw."

It's hard not to be a slasher when the frigging canon writers are thinking the same things.

Hee! You and me both, Baby :)

I love Jeff Bell for saying this -- for thinking this. Love the Drews, too. Seriously, if neither Spike nor Angel can have the girl, let them have each other!

Oh, please. Please, in the sacred names of everything that is - well, sacred - let this happen. The writers can't give us another season but they at least can give us that.

Also, David Fury said that the primary romance of the season was Spike+Angel.
