Oct. 14th, 2004 11:27 amI've been taking a bit of a break from fandom recently, mostly because I'm working on my Masters thesis and I'm in labs all day, and partly because I'm still in the writers'-block-can't-write-a-word place. I'm in labs right now, actually, where I should be measuring the ratios in the Balmer lines of this planetary nebula emission spectrum, but meh. Ooh, and I'm taking Japanese classes. They're fun. Although I need to learn more hiragana because at the moment I can write 'ma' and 'a' without looking at the chart. I'm not sure how many words that will let me write, but I'm guessing not too many.
connorbeast has introduced me to the joys of e-bay, because he's an evil enabler. Considering he and I both have addictive personalities, it's *exactly* the kind of site we should be spending time on. Why, I was convinced I was over my 8-year-old self's love of My Little Ponies and Sylvanian Families until I was browsing through the toy section and the giant bell of 'I must have these NOW' went off in my brain.
I did get a signed 8x10 of J August Richards for a very good price. He's so pretty. And has a very nice signature.
Oh, and my student loan didn't come in. Further investigation revealed that this was because I, err, forgot to apply for it. Oops.
Letters keep coming to our house addressed to Ms. Doyle, presumably for a former resident.
thecount_ha keeps giving them to me because he forgets that Doyle isn't in fact my real name, which amuses me.
