On the plus side, slow week at work means getting research done for my Tales of the Slayer ficathon fic (no, not started yet. No, haven't got the human AU or Spuffy fics done either, eek). The bad side of this is the sheer volume of useless-yet-terribly-interesting information I'm absorbing about the Roman Republic in 48 BC. Why didn't I do history? It's fun and my university does a whole module on Jamestown! Darla fic! Astrophysics is of no use to me! Bah.

Pimping: idol_reflection. Like ship_manifesto but for individual characters. Hmm, I think I want to do Riley. Wait, that came out... exactly as I intended. Carry on.

(Buffy and Angel fandom could easily provide a hundred essays all on their own. I can think of people just on my friends list who could do Snyder. And Mr. Gordo. And Devon. And Katrina.)

!!1! Goolecaptain's posted the conclusions he's drawn about fanfic from his classic *cough* "Why Do We Write This". Pure gold. The fluffy-bunnies ending to a fic about Hank Summers sexually abusing his daughter would normally have me headdesking but it's exactly what I was expecting. Goolecaptain makes me want to write nothing but angsty everybody-dies darkfic in the hope that some glorious day he'll write me a happy ending 'sequal'. Till then I'll be over here casting jealous looks in elektra_'s direction.
