Apr. 18th, 2004 03:30 pmThe SFX letters page printed the greatest response ever to the Angel cancellation:
"Made a note in my diary on the way home. It simply said: 'bugger'."
(If you don't get the reference, shame on you, and rent or buy Blackadder Goes Forth as soon as humanly possible, if not sooner.)
And it was from someone in my city! Squee! Any of you real-life lot know a Lee somebody? Possibly Wilson.
That just edges out the Marsters Wars as my favourite SFX letter ever. (That was a couple of letters in response to a comment in the editorial that they know women only buy the magazine for photos of James Marsters. They ranged from a cheerful "Yep, you got me there!" to the wonderfully sarcastic, "Unbelievably, not every woman on Earth is creaming her knickers over His Blondeness")
I love SFX.

on 2004-04-18 08:33 am (UTC)I know a couple of Lee's, but nary an ATS fan among them. Still, it's nice to know they're out there. Blackadder and ATS -- where do I go to meet these men?

on 2004-04-18 09:36 am (UTC)Sounds like a blast, although I'm not even a QUB graduate, so I'd feel a bit out of place. (I did have accountancy classes in the big social sciences lecture theatre, but that's a bit of a tenuous link.)

on 2004-04-18 10:29 am (UTC)The normal Angel days are just a big group of fans watching a bunch of the latest episodes. Lots of fun, and a good way to see them before they come on Sky. It was Buffy and Angel last year, now it's Angel and Smallville.
Angel/Smallville
on 2004-04-20 02:51 am (UTC)PS Doyle_sb4, I'll see you on Wednesday, I hope?

Yelp, it's this Sunday. If you're coming up on Saturday night, any chance you could make it early Saturday night so that the group had (finally) get another Buffy session.
