DVD releases

Ooh, Angel season 4 is out on region 2 DVD on March 1st, and Buffy season 7 on April 5th (that's where £120 of my student loan's going, then). No word on special features yet.

The 4 Slayer collection discs (4 episodes each centred around Spike, Willow, Angel and Faith) and The Best of Buffy are also out on March 1st. Some of the episode choices are a bit odd. The discs are:

The Willow disc is *so* clearly the Oz collection in disguise. Weird.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I mean, 3 out of 4 are very Oz-centric (rather than including, say, Two to Go or Grave). Not that I'm complaining...

Or even "Something Blue". "Wrecked". Heck, "Triangle" is more Willowcentric. "I Robot, You Jane"! (Huh. I know more Willow eps than I would have given myself credit for. Neat.)

I'm not complaining, either. Not that there'd be any point, since Region 2 gets cool stuff I'll never see. :)

I think whoever makes up the discs is a Willow/Oz shipper... the Lie to Me inclusion still puzzles me, though. Surely Halloween and half the other S2 episodes have about the same amount of Spike-time. Crush, Intervention, Lies My Parents Told Me, Dead Things, The Initiative, even Afterlife are more Spike-y.

I agree with you. I think "Crush" would have been a pretty cool complement to the other Spike eps. "Lie to Me" is just kinda - bland, I guess, and Spike's just doing his menacing vamp schtick.

Oh, god. And the way they're looking at each other! Wesley so very sorry, and this is during a time when he wasn't apologizing for anything anymore, and Connor - wide eyed and intense, peering at Wes through his lashes.

Phases is the ep where Willow discovers Oz is a werewolf, yes? I shudder whenever I watch that one. Worst. Willow. Outfit. Ever. A fashion-conscious werewolf really should have killed her.

Actually, when one watches that episode it's really hard to believe she could ever develop the good hair and dress sense she does in S4.

The oddest things to me are things like "Becoming, Part 1" without part 2. I can't imagine how incomplete I'd feel!
