Nicked from [livejournal.com profile] wisteria_: very cool meme. The idea is to choose your favourite Buffy episode for each number 1-22 (I'm explaining this badly... okay, #4 could be 1.04, 2.04, 3.04 and so on)

1. Welcome to the Hellmouth. I love the pilot. Everyone's just so adorable.

2. Real Me. I love the Beneath You church scene, but as a whole episode, Real Me's just better. I mean... Harmony! Dawn! Andrew Cyrus!

3. School Hard. JM's accent aside, great entry for Spike and Dru.

4. Help. Love Cassie. Love her madly.

5. Selfless, just nudging out my beloved Life Serial because it has Anya singing.

6. Guh, how can you make me choose between Halloween and Band Candy?! Okay... Halloween. One of my favourites ever. It has "well this is just... neat!" It has Oz's fabulous line to Cordy. It has some of the cutest B/A in the entire series (as well as the retrospectively hilarious running gag of everyone saying that Angel would never go for Cordelia). And most importantly - Ethanethanethan.

7. Once More With Feeling. Fool for Love and CWPD are superb, but this was my first ever episode and it's still my baby.

8. Lover's Walk. Am I remembering right that this is the only episode where we see Angel, Buffy and Spike fight as a team? Yeah. OT3.

9. The Wish. Uses my favourite premise, making one small change to history and seeing where it takes it. Plus - vampire Xander. Guh.

10. Hush. Brilliantly clever and has the best villains ever. And the slideshow!

11. Out of Sight, Out of Mind. I don't know, I just love this one. I think there are moments in it that are total genius (the shot is in this episode of Cordy getting ready for the dance, right? I love that shot, and the eerie music from the music room)

12. Prophecy Girl. Buffy's just so incredible in this. Also, I like smirking at the unanswered question of how Xander knows Angel's address.

13. The Zeppo. (Kennedy, you're my girl, and I love Killer in Me, but Xander's funnier. Sorry). "I like the quiet" - possibly Xander's finest moment.

14. Innocence. For the quality of the writing, acting and directing, and not because I could watch freeze-frames of Angelus uder the sprinklers until the end of time.

15. Phases. Larry. My Larry. We hardly knew ye. Oh, and Oz is good in this, too. But it's mainly about the Larry.

16. Storyteller (The Body is amazingly written and acted, and it's objectively a better episode. But I can never watch it again. I've tried. So Storyteller it is.)

17. Superstar. Again - Passion is sheer brilliance, but I'm easily swayed by the funny. Combine the funny with the AU and there's no contest.

18. Earshot. Mixes the funny and the serious so well. And Jonathan and Nancy are in it.

19. I Only Have Eyes For You. Beautiful ghost story, and I love possessed!Buffy's "don't walk away from me, bitch!"

20. The Prom. One day I will make it through the whole class protector speech without dissolving into a soggy mess.

21. Becoming Part 1. Flashbacks! Dodgy accents ahoy!

22. Restless. Possibly my 2nd fav. episode ever.

And now, some dorky stats ony my favourites by season:

season 1 - 1
season 2 - 6
season 3 - 5
season 4 - 4
season 5 - 1
season 6 - 1
season 7 - 3

Also, thanks for making this meme easier for me. I can just say "ditto" and be done with it. :)

The Prom speech does the same thing to me. And when Xander buys Cordy the dress.
