Fanfic flavour of the day - Angel. I'm downloading anything I can find about my boy.

On the het side - reading him paired with Willow, Cordelia, and looking for any fic with Lilah or Faith.

For slash - hoo boy. I don't think I ever met an Angel slash pairing I didn't like. My OTP's Angel/Wesley but I love him with Spike, Lindsey, Doyle (um, not me, obviously - though I wouldn't complain...), Oz, Lorne, Xander - I'd give Angel/Gunn and Angel/Giles a try too. Ooh, and Riley, since connorbeast has been reccing The Quality of Mercy.

Is Buffy fandom unusual in having so many pairings in fanfic? I was into Trek fandom a few years back and seriously can't remember very many. I love picking a couple I want to read about (hmm, I'm in a Wes/Lilah sort of mood today) and being able to find something out there worth my time. Usually. There's still a disappointing lack of Xandrew, or Andrew fic of any kind.

OT: Is it a sign of obsession when you fork out for a paid LJ account just to have 10 icons?

Pairings galore!

It's not just you - when I first stumbled into Buffy fandom, I was shocked at the plethora of possible parings (that was a fun sentence to write). I came from the X-Files side of the tracks, and I was used to seeing M/S, M/K, M/Sk, and S/Sk with few other options. Buffyverse, in comparison, is a frickin' orgy. Not that I'm complaining, mind.

I think the primary reason for this is that there are just so many more interesting characters to work with. And they're all young(-looking). And attractive. There are just going to be a lot more people willing to write even weird Buffy pairings, like, say Giles/Riley, than there are willing to write, say, CSM smut. Because, eww.

BTW, I, too, wish there was more Xandrew out there, and that I had about 40 thousand more icons to play with.
