Hmm. Is the word "gipped" or "jipped"? (Context: cheated, ticked off) My spellcheck doesn't recognise it.

Yeah, ludditerobot pointed that out too, I wasn't aware of that (I'd always spelled it 'gipped' and never made the connection. I've never heard of 'Jewed', either). Have decided to go for a different phrasing. Thanks!

It's also important to point out that most people who use the term "gypped" don't realize that it's a racist derivative. People who use the term "jewed" are quite aware of the connotations, which is why you would not have heard it.

It's still proper to help remove gypped from part of our language, but I just wanted to point out that most people will be aware that you're not intending to use it offensively.
