Finally finished my Physics presentation (titled It's the End of the World As We Know It, And I Feel Fine). Er, I hope other people in my class went for the funny option, because my conclusion is that our biggest threat to global civilisation is being enslaved by damn dirty apes.

I have a Psychology lecturer that said if you try to be funny you have to make five independent examiners laugh out loud or you lose five marks.

Unfortunatly he only told me this after I'd handed in a Psycho-analytic evaluation of Harry Potter called 'Is Potter potty?'

There go my five marks.

Good luck with your presentation.

Ha! If I may ask, what's your presentation really about? I blame all my nerdiness on my physicist father. :)

It's about global catastrophe: the ones that were mistaken (like the Jupiter effect and the millennium bug) and the ones that really could end life as we know it - my two examples are asteroid impact and the supervolcano beneath Yellowstone.

But my last slide really is the apes thing. I also have poetry, Charlie Brown and a really odd picture of Ben Affleck.

It's a strange kind of class.

Sounds like fun. Really, that sounds like something I would do, but I have yet to have a class where I could do something interesting like that and have it be on-topic. I do, however, have a tendency to take the prompts and run with them. Like once, when I was supposed to do a paper on an aspect of medicine, I ended up talking about how new evidence has come to light that nearly proves that Columbus's crew didn't get syphilis from the natives of the New World -- they gave it to them. All very incriminating and fascinating. :)
