My week

I've started on Book of Days, but I'm completely blocked on the Back in the Day assignment (I'm thinking of taking the cowards' way out and making it as gen as gen can be, because the only way I could slash those two at that time would be to take my friend Andrew's suggestion and lock them in a room with lots and lots of whiskey).

What else have I been doing...

* The Buffy X-Box game is incredible. Especially the hidden arena level, because if you complete Arena 2 you get to fight an Angelus/Spike tag-team. I would have killed for that scene in the show. And it's utterly untrue that I let myself be killed just to enjoy the image of Spike biting Buffy from the front while Angelus bites her from behind.
[livejournal.com profile] connorbeast and I were taking the piss over the Buffy/Giles subtext in the game, but when two other people wandered in at different times to watch and immediately picked up on it ("okay, Giles is talking directly to her breasts" and "could Giles look any more 'come and sit on Daddy's lap, little girl'?") we did start to wonder if they tried to cater for every shipper group.

* [livejournal.com profile] jediowl informs me that two of the computers in our Physics department are called Spike and Angel. Hee.

* I want to see the proper, aired versions of the first two Angel episodes. Mainly so I can see the new credits, because right now I'm envisioning little cartoon Angel and Spike hitting each other with mallets as the Itchy and Scratchy theme plays.

* I have spent sooo much on DVDs this week. But Teachers is an excellent series. I fear the prospect of an American remake. I also bought Lethal Weapon, which I've never seen, because it promises subtexty goodness.

omg. I snorted my coffee (ow!, by the way) when I read this.

Also, in terms of subtext-heavy DVD purchases, may I recommend The Italian Job? Duuude. Plus, it's a damn fine flick.

The Italian Job is still showing in cinemas in this neck of the woods, so no DVD yet. Is that the lovely Mr Seth Green on your icon, btw?
Doyle: Hee to you too. I want Spike-the-computer because Angel looks so gloomy on the sign-in screen. (Spike's smirking) But Diarmid hogged Spike-the-computer first. The computer guy also has three ferrets called Buffy, Dawn and Willow. He had a Faith, too, but she died.

meep. Then go to the cinema! Now! (Sorry. Bit overenthused for my new secondary fandom here.) And it is the inimitable Mr. Green in the icon. He's dominating my icon set something awful these days. I'm down to a single Xander, no Giles or Angel or Connor, and here I am making Italian Job icons.
