connorbeast for getting me thinking about Kennedy. I've got four pages of notes. I know this girl; how she lost her virginity, what CD is in her stereo, how she relates to her father and half-sister...
I will not write a Kennedy's-origin-novella. I won't.

Teliko
She has no speech, and gives no sign that she understands theirs. When the Elders speak of her, they call her Teliko. Weapon.
Every few dawns a member of the tribe makes the journey across the bones and dry earth to leave an offering of food-scraps outside her cave. None of them relish this duty; she has been known to bite intruders.
The Elders are pleased with their work. One night, they know, the dark-creatures will be too many and the feral girl will die, but what of it? There will be more girls. And soon, the rains will come.
