Two more drabbles
Jul. 2nd, 2003 11:29 pmI *will* do all of season 5.
Kitsunegari
Three months into your sentence, prison life takes an upswing. Your new cellmate is nineteen and cute and doing three to five for larceny.
You learn things about her: she's a natural blonde; she likes to have her neck kissed; the Japanese tattoo on her hip says "kitsunegari", and she smiles when she tells you the guy in the parlour told her it meant "peace" but she found out later it was really "fox hunt".
It's a business arrangement. You listen to her and play the bodyguard, and she never mentions the times you forget yourself and call her "B".
Inside the X-Files
Angel tried looking under F for Flaherty. When that came up with nothing he tried M for Millbank Street and - with what he realised in hindsight was blind optimism - S for S'kresh demons.
"Duh," Cordelia said, rolling her eyes, when he admitted defeat, "Mrs. Flaherty was some big-shot porno star back in the day. It's under 'X'."
There was a second's hesitation, and Angel realised she was waiting, as he was, for Doyle to crack a joke about her filing. They looked at Wesley's coat, draped over Doyle's chair.
"Will it get easier?" she asked quietly.
"Yeah," he lied.
