Not dumb. I love doing that with characters/ships, and people have told me about some great music that way. In another fandom I was in we had a fanfiction challenge called the Lyrics Challenge, in which we would trade lyrics with another random participant and have one week to write a story in the fandom about them; it was a lot of fun.
