Comics and shopping
Apr. 30th, 2003 11:06 amCredit for the dirtiest comment of the day goes to
jediowl for her C3PO "Goldenrod" statement. I think I've corrupted her. I'm so proud.
I think we're going to the X-Men movie tomorrow night; not sure what time, though. Can't wait.
I had to have been a man in a past life. Yesterday I went with
marymac on her quest for a backless bra and ended up sitting outside the changing room reading a magazine (okay, a Supergirl comic - in a side note, the Peter David Supergirl comics are Spuffy. Seriously. Buzz, the demon potential love interest, is British, blond, wears a black leather duster and calls Supergirl "pet" and "love" a lot. And his story's a redemption arc. Anyway, back to shopping.) I am the worst clothes-shopping person in the world and I was sleepy, so Mary's boyfriend David had to take over. He claims the second floor of Primark is the seventh level of hell. Mary says it wouldn't have been so bad if he'd just stayed with her, but he refused to go into the lingerie section so he ended up hovering by himself between the bras and the kids' department. And that didn't look weird and dodgy at all.
I have so much work to do for these exams. It's quite scary. I'm mainly in denial at the moment, but the train of awful realisation is hurtling towards me and I'm tied to the tracks...

on 2003-04-30 05:43 am (UTC)I'm not too familiar with Peter David's comic-writing (though I've read written by him one pretty good book, one rather bad book, and two really good short stories, all of them comic/TV novelizations), but I know for a fact from his blog that he both watches and loves "Buffy". Every week he discusses each episode in greeeeeat length. Your Spuffy parallels could very well be deliberate. :)
