connorbeast made the awful mistake of letting my play Guitar Hero at his house. Today I somehow aquired a PS2. And Guitar Hero. And Singstar Anthems (with two other singing games and a dancemat one on the way from the internets). Thank goodness it's payday next week.

Guitar Hero makes me feel like a ROCK GOD.

Isn't it a thing of beauty?

I got addicted after seeing Guitar Hero II previewed at PAX -- particularly after watching Tycho and Robert, and then the Omeganaut contestants, face off in dual-player mode. Suffice it to say that with the former two, this pretty much got acted out (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2005/09/19). heh. (There is in fact photographic evidence (http://www.flickr.com/photos/86326874@N00/225875118/in/set-72157594256569354/), come to think of it... I continue to be amused.)

I went out and bought my own copy of the first game not long after, and it's been a blast. I haven't gone into fits of guitar-god-go-smash glory yet, but then again, the controller/game set was $70. ;)

Meanwhile, Guitar Hero II comes out for good next month, and I will be alllll over that one... 'cause I have two words for you:

Spinal Tap.
