I make that 105 complete stories I've seen (out of 159, if you count the TV movie) since I started watching the old school stuff, which was about a year ago. Plus 90 of the books. And 58 of the audios. Oh, and I've started on the Eight comics. This fandom has so much stuff. It's designed for stuff-obsessives. Which I am. I'm surprised I was never into stamps or something equally picky and obsession-making as a kid, I seem the type.

The Fury From The Deep recon is marvellous, as is The Daleks' Masterplan. Both are must sees.
The Silurians is great on its own, but really adds to The Christmas Invasion and leads on naturally to The Sea Devils.
Frontier has some marvellous Delgado.

You have not seen "The Crusade" yet?? Woes, that's my favorite Hartnell.

There's a lot of widely underrated stuff there I really liked myself: The Moonbase (it's like Tenth Planet, except I didn't fall asleep through it, huzzah!), Revenge of the Cybermen and Paradise Towers I like... despite their reputations which I understand not.

INFERNO! I hope you get to see Inferno soon.

The Invasion is deeply wonderful (though I guess you might want to wait until the DVD comes out), and The Krotons is pretty great too, as is The Myth Makers audio.

Also very good: The Seeds of Doom (another one of those "don't touch that, it'll turn you into an icky thing!" stories). And Meglos has the actress who played Barbara in it.

Episodes that made me go "Eh...": Death to the Daleks, The Sontaran Experiment, and Planet of Evil.

And ooh, I am very curious about the Eight comics!!! (Partly because I feel like we just didn't get enough VISUAL of Eight...)

This makes me realize how few of the Hartnell and Troughton episodes I've seen. How I miss the days when Dr Who was on public tv every Saturday afternoon.

"The Hand of Fear" was one of my favorites when I was a kid, although it's one of those episodes that irritated me a little by dressing Sarah Jane like a toddler. She'd devolved somewhat as the series progressed from the self-sufficient woman she seemed to originally be. I really liked the villain in this one, who now that I think about it resembles Illyria a bit.

Well, Inferno is out on DVD now and Hand of Fear will be out soonishly, and supposedly the Invasion will be too. Buy them and watch them all, they're great! Well, Hand of Fear splits people a bit, but I liked it a lot. Inferno is one of my absolute top Pertwees.

Of the others, I strongly recommend the War Games, the Silurians, Invasion of the Dinosaurs and Seeds of Doom. Also, you should see Tenth Planet and Planet of the Spiders ASAP as they're the final stories of their respective stories. Personally I found Tenth Planet disappointing but really liked Spiders, but I suspect I'm in the minority on that.

Others I liked include Ice Warriors, Sea Devils, Face of Evil, Two Doctors, Mysterious Planet and parts of Paradise Towers (basically, I thought it was a good story done badly). I actually haven't seen a lot of the B&W ones myself, especially the incomplete ones, though I've seen all the colour ones. And I've been a fan for, like, ever. I need to increase my obsessiveness!

Hmm, If I had to only pick five to have you watch, my pics would be Tenth Planet, War Games, Planet of Spiders, Face of Evil and Paradise Towers. I think. Hee. I like a lot of the ones you have listed.

Eep, fantastic! I've still only collected...82 serials, at last count, and only seen twenty-odd of 'em. Sigh.

That I've seen and you haven't...The Ark was lovely, not earth-shaking but it was my first introduction to One and I fell in love, so, plus I was reminded very much of it when watching TiP/TSP. And I saw Revenge of the Cybermen which really isn't all that great, but it was my third serial with Four in it, and the first time I went "...oh!" and really got Baker's Doctor. And it has Harry in it so I think it is worth a watch. Plus glitter guns. Snerk.

It does have so much stuff! I am woefully behind because Doctor Who was costing me too much last summer, and I buried it in my Veronica Mars obsession (which had to end in season two. Season two couldn't overcome Doctor Who)!

Death to the Daleks! Though my love for Sarah and Three may have clouded my judgement, I love it to death! (Feel free to rec me episodes, btw, if you ever just want to, because I think I've seen maybe... twenty? *sigh*).

Have just started listening to the Dalek Master Plan in the car on the way to work. It's great so far.

Of the rest I remember with particular fondness Revenge of the Cybermen, The Seeds of Doom and The Hand of Fear.

Doyle, I come to ask for your help.

I'm here to beg you to consider signing up to write either a witch or a demon fic for [livejournal.com profile] watchersdiaries. We're doing a Tales of Witches and Demons month (Aug). I know that you contributed to the Tales of the Council story before. (By the way, be on alert for a special "council" announcement in Sept/Oct). So pretty please... consider writing us one. Deadline for signups are June 30th.
