Stats #3

Last one, I swear!

I was interested in the percentages, so had a look at the figures of requested vs written pairings. (The figures are rounded to the nearest percentage point, so they don't add to exactly 100)

Requested

m/m slash: 48%
het: 36%
f/f slash: 12%
threesome: 5%

Written

m/m slash: 49%
het: 34%
f/f slash: 13%
threesome: 4%

Just thought it was interesting how well they matched up...

You remind me so much of someone I went to college with. We were drinking beer one afternoon, and one of us was idly spinning a bottlecap, and Stirling looked down and said, "Hey - I bet I can write an equation that will explain why the bottlecap spins like that."

::blink::

I was an English major. Numbers frighten me. Gimme words anyday. ;)

Lol. Y'know, one of Richard Feynman's major theories came from him watching a plate spin and... I'll stop now *g*

It's quite disturbing that Andrew is a parallel universe boy version of me. I so identified with him and the big board in Get it Done.

Wow. M/M slash is the buffyverse trend of the moment.

This fascinates me as someone in the publishing industy ... are we missing out on a potential trend in women's fiction?

I say: Hell Yes! I'd pay good money to read boy-on-boy erotica written for and marketed to women...

Me too. Wait a minute... I get it free now...

I remember reading an article on QAF that discussed the female attraction to seeing m/m. They are cashing in it. Publishers should too. Actually, I'd rather read about it than see it - unless of course the actor had cheekbones you could shave your legs with.

A non-Buffy watching friend was watching a few episodes with me and suddenly commented "Spike should sleep with Angel. That'd be really hot." General consensus from the females in the room was yes. Yes it would. *g*

Would it kill Joss to do A Very Special Angel? I mean, really?

Certainly wouldn't kill me.

It could even be an AU. One episode, have lots of fun, than go back to being stuffy for the rest of the season.
Kinda like "Something Blue" only with m/m and NC-17. Well kinda like fanfic really...

One word: bodyswap. Cordelia astral-projecting like when she was comatose in Birthday and taking over Spike's body.

Could work.

Hmm... that might be enough to get past the sensors (see Whoopi/Demi in Ghost), but they'd need to make Spike still act like Spike to have the full effect for fans.
I just can't picture Cordy saying: "Oh, yeah luv. You like my sweet arse don'tcha. C'mere ya big poof and suck my cock."

'Cause really those lines are just necesary for any Spike/Angel interaction. :)
