March 6 through March 13
Post to your LJ each day at least one of your favorite fanfic authors and why you love them, their work, and why they need more appreciation.
First up, I'm going to go with
mahaliem. She mainly writes Smallville, Clark/Lex pairing, and my God she's funny. I would kill to do comedy this well. I would kill all of you. Not really. :shifty:
When I was sick last week (I didn't have mumps, by the way, not sure I ever said) I spent a day reading all of her comedy fics and giggling hysterically. Buffyverse people will mostly know her from Amnesia!Spike, which is also wonderful. But it's her Clark and Lex I love most, especially when she writes them in the future when they really should be mortal enemies -
"You can't kill Lois Lane just because you suspect she's sleeping with your husband," Clark explained, in a voice edged with panic.
"Why not?" Lex asked. [...]
"You don't even know for sure who at The Daily Planet Superman is fooling around with. It could be anyone."
Lex started to say something, but Clark held up a hand, forestalling him. "Do not even think of telling me 'kill them all and let God sort them out', okay? You are not causing mass destruction. Also, I work there. I need the paycheck."
Finally, Lex nodded. "I'll put off planning any homicides until I at least narrow it down to a department."
Her website is here but there's more stuff in her memories here.

- Frienditto can make your locked LJ posts available (http://www.livejournal.com/users/lori/430544.html) to the public (http://www.livejournal.com/users/rm/384986.html), if you are concerned make sure no one on your friends list is signed up.
It was suggested that regular "pruning" of friend lists could ensure that no sneaks who'll do a thing like this is on it. Another way is using Custom Friend Groups, please refer to the LJ FAQ.
Pass this on! (http://www.livejournal.com/users/gsyh/164031.html)
And ah, FFA appreciation, I usually review all the stories I read that I didn't before in the summer. LJ and FF.Net is easy to review, but websites where I have to send email, am usually more lax, therefore a year back I started a document file keeping titles and authors of stuff I read, for later... Cause sometime I read things right before bed. -_-

on 2005-03-07 01:39 am (UTC)And I still blame her for getting me into smut because she wrote a Spuffy that totally and utterly knocked my socks off and inspired me to try for myself.
This one: Because It's Wrong (http://ultimate_ninja.tripod.com/beyond_the_pale/because_its_wrong.htm)
She's also the one person who got me reading - and loving - a Harry/Draco she wrote.
No one does funny like her.

on 2005-03-07 03:46 am (UTC)Whenever I get feedback, I'm always thrilled that someone liked something I wrote, but this... this just blew me away. Add to that the fact that I'm totally one of your fangirls and admire your writing so much - well, I'm afraid it's going to take a while for me to come back to earth.
Thank you so much.
