I'm skiving off to Belfast for a weekend of playing computer games (I *will* crack Eternal Darkness!) so, [livejournal.com profile] zortified, my Riley/Xander fic for the CYA ficathon for you's going to be late...

Swerving off topic, talking about feedback and probably getting Gwyneth Paltrow-ish:

I suck at replying to feedback. I'm diligent about replying to email feedback, but when it's LJ comments I feel silly saying "thank you!" every time. I'm going to try to be better at it, but I've been meaning to say for ages: if you've ever taken the time to leave me feedback, of any kind, thank you. To steal the wisdom of Mr. Marsters, y'all rawk.

Also, if you've ever written a ficathon entry for me and I didn't comment, I haven't seen it. I try to be good about checking the masterlists, but I've inevitably missed some of them, especially when my own entry's been late. If you wrote something for me and didn't get a response, let me know? I'll feel incredibly guilty and leave you nice feedback *g*

By the way, when are we having Writercon: UK? ;-)

ETA: ooh, and I have AIM again. My screenname's doylesb4.

By the way, when are we having Writercon: UK? ;-)

When somebody from the UK organizes it? Cause I would sooo go. *blinks at you innocently*

Actually I do want to go to a con in the UK next year, and combine that with seeing some of the glorious people I know on my flist. I'm going to start saving up the cash and crossing the fingers that it happens. And persuading people to join me.

Also, ooh, Riley/Xander! Excellent! Mine is also very, very late but I don't even know who I'm writing for, I checked the request and it doesn't say. But I know WHAT I'm writing (theory, theory!) If I wake up.

Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube? That's one of my favorite games, especially when you start to go crazy.

*note: if this isn't the same game, please ignore me lol*

*wiggles happily*

Oh yeah, that's the kind of reception I'm talkin' about.

Hee, Ros and I want to go to the convention next year there called "Quar'toth" because dude, how could they name it that and NOT have Connor&Holtz? Even though it's almost an entire year away and they don't have any committments from ANY actors? But seriously, we wanna go cause - Hell Dimension! Worst of the Hell Dimensions! And if we can't open a portal back home and get stuck in the UK, you'll let us live with you in Ireland, right?

Ooh! They were talking about that at the con I attended. Keith Szarabajka was most offended that he and VK hadn't been asked about it yet, because he completely agrees with you that you can't have that con without Holtz and Connor *g*

*flails and squees happily*

Dude, I LOVE Keith Szarabajka soooo much, I almost want to meet him more than I do anybody else, I swear. Except, of course, I want to meet everybody else, too! But oh god, that's adorable *squeaks*

I hope they're asked and asked sooon, because wouldn't that be the best Con EVER? You'd go, right? Particularly if Ros and I were there? *nudges you* Because it'd only be the best con EVER.

A UK writercon would be nice - and I could actually afford to go to it...

Hmm, what's the closest UK equivalent to Las Vegas... let's all go to Blackpool! *g*

*g* Depending on when it was held and whether that would clash with my finals - I'd definitely have to think about it.

:looks at website:

Okay, June? Doable. My exams finish in May. And my parents were saying last night it was a shame Writercon wasn't next summer since I could have gone as a graduation present...

[livejournal.com profile] connorbeast, you up for a trip to London?

If that scared you, just wait until you get further along. My favorite guy still has to be the one who does the autopsies. Be sure you read his journal after you beat his level, his voice is just disturbing. I've beat the game all the way through with all 3 different colors (you want to do that with the same game to get a special ending).

So you ever get stuck and I'm on aim, just buzz me. :P

At the con I was at last month I was really surprised the amount of people I got talking to who eventually asked shyly "so... do you write fanfic?" There are so many more writerly folks than I thought, even here in N. Ireland...

I am super-sneaky...

Me: Sigh. There's a great Buffy con in London at Halloween, but I won't be able to afford it since I'm going away this month.
Mum: That's a shame. Isn't there another one?
Me: Well, there's *this* one, next June...
Mum: Oh, good. You can go to that one, then.

I think I shall *g8

Hee! You are totally the supersneakiest of them all! But yes, the October one - BOTH of the October ones, the one through this one and the really expensive angel & spike one, would be fabulous. But the Quor'toth one will work out spendidly, particularly because it would actually give me a chance to save up money and afford to go.

Wee! Go you for working the system! *begins to work her system*

I've never been to the UK. I think that must be remedied.

Ooh, that's true. There are so many more than one thinks. I randomly went somewhere (I'll admit it, it was an inter-school debating competition, I represented my school nationally *sighs because she's a geek*) and it turned out that not only did I already know the person I was debating against online, but we'd read each other's stuff. Small world.

But I would seriously consider helping out anyone who looked into a Writercon for the UK. I think it's a fantastic idea.

T'was. There was much discussion of BtVS & Angel, slash, eating, drinking, and merrymaking. [livejournal.com profile] katemonkey, [livejournal.com profile] rozk, [Bad username or site: dolores / @ livejournal.com], [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch, [livejournal.com profile] naughtyspirit, [livejournal.com profile] kabukivice, [livejournal.com profile] megolas, and myself were amongst those present.

Writercon UK?

If I had fair warning to save up and it was in the North West and near a hospital and well, basically if it was in Manchester ( NI>Manc is cheeeap flight, about twenty quid) I would be so up for that it's untrue. I would drag my agoraphobic arse out of the house for that. I would love to go to that. How many, roughly, writers are there based in the UK?

[livejournal.com profile] db2305 and I propose Amsterdam (slash)Writercon for next year.

I'm actually going to be studying in Amsterdam next year, and (slash)Writercon sounds like a lot of fun, so if it was at a time I was there I'd certainly love to go. Would you be organizing it?

Posted by [identity profile] meko00.livejournal.com
Oh? Sounds like fun. :-)

Ok, here's the deal: I'm not Dutch and I've never even been to The Netherlands. (I'm European, though.) And I can't say we have any definite plans besides going to gay bars at this point. Besides, I don't write fic. ;-) But, I wouldn't mind helping out. We'll just have to see. Of course, it'd be great if you were interested in it.

UK!WriterCon? I'd so be up for that.

(Er, or should I instead be saying:

Paff! You don't need UK!WriterCon. Just come to [livejournal.com profile] connotations. UK slash con.)

Writercon UK would rock most mightily indeed.

(Also, I wrote The Spaces Between Us (http://www.livejournal.com/users/vanilla_tiger/80555.html) for you the Warren ficathon entry. No pressure.)

Going to gay bars...sounds like a plan (-: And what better place for a slash writers' conference than Amsterdam; though actually, I haven't been there yet either, so I'm only going on what my friends tell me. I'd love to attend such an event, sadly I'm not really an organizing person, so I wouldn't be much help in that area. Oh well.

Hi there. [livejournal.com profile] lukataintedlove sent me the fic that was written for me in [livejournal.com profile] ashlyn26's Connor slashathon and never published there, so I thought I'd send you yours. It's WesCon, at http://www.livejournal.com/users/notaspambot/9660.html#cutid1

Indeed there is, and I wish I could go, but I'm back at uni in October and since first semester's my research project I wouldn't have time to go, even if I could afford it *mopes*

I'd be there!

Talking about small world: my elder son is at a geekfest, sorry Maths Summer School, and met someone who hangs out at the Godawful Fanfic Board...

Small world indeed. And again, talking about small worlds, should I assume you are the same tweedisgood that I've known for some two years at the BC&S?

Yup. Don't go there hardly at all lately, as tend to get into unintentional fights. Life's too short and I have fic to write :-)...

But a Writercon would, I assume, include non-slash writers? Smiling at your icon: K/S was my first fandom: but in the Buffyverse I only write a smidgeon of slash. Got a slight feeling that Writercon Vegas was pretty slash-dominated: would the rest of us get a look-in, too?

Posted by [identity profile] dodyskin.livejournal.com
Dunno, I'm not going, I just thought it might be handy to drop the info into this thread. I suspect, though don't quote me on this, that the more het or gen writers that participate, the less slash dominated things will be. I'm just sayin' *g*

I write all sorts, slash, het and gen. I just think the icon is funny.
