Anybody who knows more about fashion than me - actually, anybody who knows anything about fashion at all - help me out on what kind of thing Lilah wears to work? Because beyond 'skirt, blouse, jacket', when it gets into actual names or designers, I've got nothing.

I think some people might call those outfits "power suits". This isn't specific to one outfit and has nothing to do with designers, but I think it describes a whole genre of outfits. ???? No idea. Just guessing here.

Chanel for perfume - and probably also jackets and skirts. Armani, Prada for clothes and possibly also Prada for bags. But my Lilah goes for Louis Vuitton as the quality's far better.
Versace for business slut tops and picking up guys in bars - fabrics aren't that great and tend to rip - but aren't intended to last.
Shoes - Manolo Blahniks - aka Fuck-Me pumps.
Ferragamo for flat courts.
Undies - La Perla.

In addition to Manolos, Jimmy Choo shoes are definitely a Lilah favorite.

For suits? How about Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren: all classic, all elegant, all beaucoup de bucks.

oh, and perfume? also: bal de versailles. VERY top-drawer.

She'll also wear Gucci - which tends to vary between classic loafers (if Lilah wears loafers with some creme slacks, they'll be Gucci) and flash trash filmy and tight clothes for pulling.

Jewellery - Tiffany, those blue boxes.

Watches: Rolex - a bit too flash and obvious, but she's new money and she'd want it as a status symbol in front of the underlings.

ditto on what paratti & makd have said. harmony once made a reference to matsuda & ms. morgan would probably be on board with that action.

armani in the US? not so much. & her suits aren't chanel style. but prada/miu miu, donna karan (but never DKNY), or ralph lauren proper, oh yes. louis vuitton or hermes handbags, definitely.

for weekends she probably shops club monaco & slums in donald j. pliner beach slides.

ON top of that, she probably loves carying around abnormally flashy Christian Dior and Chanel handbags.

Dude, for the record, I think we should bug Jen to do an essay on this @ Notorious, because I've seen this question actually come up a couple different times on my flist in the past months. Most people go with Chanel. I could see Dolce and Gabana. Shoes, people usually use Manolo or Jimmy Choo, but for work she might use something more 'proper' like Gucci.

An essay would be terrific. It's one of those areas where I just don't even know where to start. My workwear, both for college and actual work, is a cartoon print t-shirt and jeans. For *really* formal presentations I wear black jeans and a blouse. Physics is not much of a power-dressing field. I have no concept at all of fancy Lilah-type clothes...

Hmmm...my first thought was Jil Sander for suits, Christian Louboutin or Sergio Rossi for shoes, Fendi for handbags, Helmut Lang for jeans and t-shirts, Chanel and YSL for makeup.
