So I saw The Girl In Question this afternoon -

:pours drinks for [livejournal.com profile] kita0610, probably the only person in here with me:

That *rocked*. And I get why people hated it, I really do. It just pushed every comedy button I possess and I was able to guiltilty overlook giant leaps in characterization and canon (but even I was wondering, what the hell was up with Darla's characterization? [livejournal.com profile] marymac had to ask if Julie Benz had been recast.)

This was so Angel meets Allo Allo (come on, they could have been after the Fallen Madonna With Ze Big Boobies rather than the capo) by way of Father Ted (I had "Ooh, I really hate Father Dick Byrne!" running through my head every time Angel and Spike seethed with jealousy).

Add a :dies: to everything below...

We had to watch the 'Ciao' scene at least half a dozen times.

I think Kevin might have lost his soul at the moment he saw Andrew in a Strongbad (?) t-shirt.

The identical Italian branch of Wolfram and Hart. Illona was great. And chestacular. ([livejournal.com profile] connorbeast, as Angel's internal monologue: 'Note to self. Suggest employee exchange program.')

Little mama/blondie bear. :dies twice:

Spike and Angel repeating practically every argument I've ever heard online over who's the best. "I signalled her with my eyes!" "That one counts as mine!"

"Concurrently!"

Dear God, the jacket...

That's the funny, this is the squee-worthy -

So. Much. Slash. Spike and Angel on the plane, and fighting in slo-mo, and on the Vespa! Angelus and William actually liking each other. This deserves to spawn at least a million fanfics. And they so had sex on Angel's desk five seconds after the camera cut away. This episode seriously put me over the edge into OTPofalltime territory. I must have at least 47 more S/A icons than I currently possess.

Angel/Nina! This *will* spawn a million fanfics. All of them by me.

Canon Darla/Dru! Julie and Juliet looked gorgeous, too.

The one thing that I didn't like was the hetting-up of Andrew, but I can fanwank it as his two fabulous girl-pals who are just escorting him to a great gay bar. (And - "blonde hair and blue eyes"? I couldn't work out whether that was a continuity boob or Angel just got distracted by the other blue-eyed blond he's crazily in love with...)

Oh, and the master list for [livejournal.com profile] ats_endofdays is here. Anyone who hasn't already signed up is free to - hell, people who have already signed up can ask for a second assignment if they want - but I figured since I had all 110 episodes covered (!) I might as well start organizing.

ETA: whhhy can I not find Spangel icons? Anybody know where hoyaylicious Spangel icons may be hiding?

I was right there with you. I im'd Kita to let her know (without spoiling her) that she and Jess better be getting paid some royalties on this episode cause it was so DOOUL.

I love my OTP. *pets the pretty yet dense vampboys*

I thought it was hysterical. Quite possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen. They are such doofi, the pair of them.

And the fade to black... they were so at it on the desk. ::snerk::

Heh. You know as much as I loathed this episode... I was very slashtastic, I was very happy for every Spangel lover out there, since it's impossible not to see the Spangel lust!

Half of me was wondering why they hadn't told Fred's parents, if Buffy knew about Spike being alive (that is, still undead), or how this episode was supposed to advance the supposed apocalypse plot.

The other half was too busy laughing at everything.

Buffy/The Immortal -- Their love is so undefined!

Yes! So glad you loved it. "Hop on little mama" had me on the floor. And yeah, I'm pretty sure Spike and Angel had each other successively and concurrently five seconds after air. If you want to share this icon by [livejournal.com profile] beamer242, take it away. SQUEEEEE!

I believe the consensus here is that those were two slayers, out for a night of undercover slaying.

This ep seems to divide the fans like no others into 'love it!!!' and 'loathe it!!!' Except I'm somewhere in the middle... I think if this were a fanfic, I'd probably have loved it; fanfic writers can just say, screw canon, characterization, and continuity. Actually, I read a recap of the ep today, and, unlike most eps, it comes across better in writing than on the screen. Which confirms for me what I thought before... it's the directing, not the writing that's bothering me. If they had just dialled that down a little... a lot... Ah well, when I rewatch, I'll try my best to ignore all that and just enjoy the slash. With only three eps left, I envy those who can just embrace the sillyness and enjoy.

I really don't like Allo, Allo or Father Ted though, so that doesn't bode well ;). (Except that episode with the Grand Prix song, that was hilarious!)

Btw, thank you so much for my EndofDays assignment! Smile Time, dude!

Hee!

That was definitely the best ep of the season as far as I'm concerned, and one of the all-time best. Best comedy ep, too.

But [livejournal.com profile] idiotparade and I were distracted trying to figure out what it is exactly that Drusilla likes about being held under the water, seeing as how asphyxiation wouldn't be an obvious turn-on for vampires. Does she just really, really like it when her fingers get all wrinkly?

I loved it, too. It felt seriously weird, but we put that down to most of the S/A bits being highly colored by their views of what was going on. I laughed all the way through the Spike/Angel scenes, and Amy Acker AD blew me away when we were back with Wes and Illyria.

And absolutely-- S/A sex on the desk the minute the camera cut away.

Go check out my icons. See any A/S you like, snag away. If there's nothing perfect, tell me what you want and I'm SURE I have it on my hard drive.

Dude. Rocking episode. Rocking. Fucking. Episode.

Have you seen this? It's not mine. Someone posted it in a Buffy community once, asking what episode Angel had sex with Spike! Hee!

And my icon is comic book Angel and Spike but you can share with me if you want.

You and kita are clearly not the only ones!

I adored adored loved loved this episode!!

And here I thought I was the only one with the "escorting to gay bar" theory about Andrew and the girls.

My other theory is that Andrew already had a boy picked out for a date, and the girls were the lesbian couple with whom he and the man had a double date. The three of them were just on their way to pick up the man and head to the opera.

Every slashy bit of S/A had me rolling on the floor laughing so much.

Hee, well. I appreciate it on the level of farce and all that. I just don't particularly like Angel or Spike, so I'm mildly sulky about the whole "Angel/Spike gets a happy flirty episode, and my OTP...betray and stab each other and then barely speak to each other. riiight." thing.

Plus, well, you know. The spoilers.

Hee! I loved this one too. And as someone else pointed out, did Darla really act like that? Or is that just Angel's exaggerated memory?
