Huh. You know, Rocket Fuel brand coffee makes one very alert. Like a meerkat. If that's what I'm thinking of. The long animals that stand up and look at things. They have them at Belfast Zoo, although now I can't remember if they actually do or if that's gophers and meerkats are the ones in The Lion King.

I have also had Kick. Kick is like Red Bull, only cheap and nasty and good for making you shake for five minutes after a glass if you haven't had it for a while. The shops are full of Rocket Fuel and Kick and BPM and Pro Plus because it is finals week and they know their student audience... I don't mean audience, what do I mean, consumer market? Doesn't sound right, but something, their something wants lots of stuff to make them stay up all night.

I am learning lots of things about condensed matter and surfaces (for my exam is on Condensed Matter and Materials Science). I want to write fic where Fred is doing her finals and probably smoking pot with her friend, but Fred would be me and the friend would be my friend Keith (who very nicely lent me his notes and talked about Star Wars with me) and that's Mary Sueing and is bad.

Break over. Back to work. More coffee! And buns, if we have buns. I demand to know why we don't have buns.

Good and bad things today:

The good

One half of the module I'm learning is interesting, straightforward and has notes that are easy to understand.
After tomorrow's exam I have a week's break before the next one, so I can finally write fic.
I'll have a [livejournal.com profile] lasultrix on June 4th.
I'll also have a barbecue on June 4th. (But we're not barbecuing [livejournal.com profile] lasultrix.)
And then Lake Garda on the 11th, hurrah!
I've downloaded lots of music today, so I now possess such delights as The Best of Hip-Hop 7 and, um, The Beach Boys Platinum Collection. And some sort of American Idol aldum, but let us never speak of that again.
I <3 Doctor Who and must write much fic, especially with the upcoming crossover challenge on [livejournal.com profile] time_and_chips. Jack/Rose/Clark Kent *must be done*.
Random sampling of new stuff. Coupling is excellent. As is Ultimate Spider-Man. As is She-Hulk (which [livejournal.com profile] connorbeast pitched to me as 'Lilah Morgan, Superhero' - hurrah for supernatural lawfirms.)

The bad

The other half of the module I'm learning is dull, incomprehensible and filled with maths that I haven't a hope of learning how to do in the next 12 hours.
I am killing the music industry by downloading things, oh noes.
I'm wasting time by writing lists on LJ when I should be doing damage control on my revision, AKA "pick out the bits I do understand in section A and hope like hell they come up"
I'm drifting away from Jossverse fandom, which makes me sad.
I think I may be becoming immune to caffeine, presumably because after a certain point my blood can't absorb any more.
