Title: Heads/Tails
Author: Doyle
Pairing: Fred/Tara
Rating: PG
Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] wisdomeagle for the femslash ficathon. Request was Fred/Tara with Wes or Xander, brushing her hair, vanilla ice cream, and a dollop of angst, with no explicit sex.
Summary: Two looks at A Hole in the World.

Or, guess which two of Doyle's favourite plot devices she's used! )

I'm sure everyone's seen PostSecret by now; people put their secrets on homemade postcards. Some of these are amazing.

[livejournal.com profile] kindkit wrote for me in the Ethanficathon, and while I always love her stuff this blew my mind: Arcana, Ethan in the Initiative and a girl at a carnival in Texas who unwittingly gets him out. So in love with the original characters here.

[livejournal.com profile] mpoetess has links to two of her vids, a Xander one and a Percy/Blackadder (!) one, both of which make me die with laughter.

I was reading a bunch of Clex fic last night, as I sometimes do, and noticed a lot of it warned in the headers that it was "cliche fic". Suits me fine, since there's a certain type of Clark/Lex fic I'll eat up with a spoon (it tends towards long, humorous, slow relationship buildup and a tendency towards fanon characterizations, with Clark confessing he's an alien at some point and Lex being thrilled and protective, and the telling the parents, and Bo waving a shotgun. Yeah, I'm easy.) I started wondering, though, what the common cliches are. I would think "trapped in a confined space" (AKA cave-in fic) and "x and y are forced to pretend they're a couple" are the most popular, but I wasn't sure of others. Luckily, there's a kink and cliche challenge going on at the moment so I was able to find [livejournal.com profile] thete1's handy list.

I don't know what it says about me that I love most of these.

I'm crossing my fingers for 'so-and-so pretend to be a gay couple'. Because I want to write Kennedy and Andrew going undercover as a straight couple (and definitely not falling in love with each other).

Considering how many Dom fangirls I have on my flist I thought I'd have heard about this by now, but - are he and Evangeline Lilly really engaged or is that just someone winding up the Datalounge lot?

Just finished watching the episode of Jeeves and Wooster where circumstances conspire to put them in drag. Utterly ridiculous and predictable (of course one of Bertie's friends would fall in love with 'Daphne Dolores', Jeeves' female alias) but I couldn't stop giggling at what a magnificently statuesque woman Stephen Fry makes, and how Hugh Laurie looks even less convincing than he did as Gorgeous Georgina in Blackadder Goes Forth. Come to think of it, is House his first regular role that doesn't require him to cross-dress?

I'd forgotten what a manwhore Jeeves is, too. One of the earlier episodes references his two fiancees (one of whom is a waitress of about nineteen). I'm shocked and outraged, but the episode where he and Bertie are at odds because Bertie is feeling broody and Jeeves doesn't want children made up for it.
