Ah, Archie. I made some scans from the first of the Americana trade paperbacks. There's a certain fish in a barrel feel to finding the gay in Archie, which is one reason why I Love It So.

( Case in point: both Archie and Moose seem to be enjoying this a little too much )

I could explain what's going on with the pins and the drag but it's funnier out of context:
( Green is not Jughead's best colour, especially with that hat. )

Then there's the issue with the boys vs. girls jitterbug contest. Where Archie gets into drag. And dances with Reggie. And Reggie gets into drag too. And Veronica dresses as a boy and dances with Betty. I tried to pick out a couple of particularly cracktastic brilliant frames from that one but I ended up just scanning the whole thing. ( A teaser: Ronnie actually looks adorable as a boy. Girl-Archie is somewhat less attractive. )
