Stuff I need to do now-ish:

- finish that bloody spectral analysis. This one needs to be done by morning, actually... (It should have been done today, if I hadn't discovered theohara's fic and proceeded to devour it all, and then wrote and rewrote and deleted shamefully fangirly feedback)
- update End of Days archive
- overdue W/X ficathon
- B/A marathon piece (not due till the 21st but I really want this one out of the way early. I have two attempts started, one snarky romantic comedy-type thing which is going to have to be abandoned since Spike and Illyria have declared themselves much more interesting and shoved Buffy and Angel out of the story altogether, and one that's not much more than a concept and a title.)
- Lilah and/or Gunn marathon with connorbeast. Except we've noticed the odd phenomenon that while Gunn clearly rocks like no-one else on AtS, the episodes devoted to him (Double or Nothing and That Old Gang of Mine being our case in point) tend towards the crap.

:sniff: My poor connorbeast is currently a sick 'beast, and I think he's giving whatever it is to me.

Also, we watched most of Once More With Feeling, leading me to reminisce about seeing Buffy for the very first time ever. My main impression from the episode was: Spuffy and Giles. Giles, Giles, Giles. Giles is utterly gorgeous in this episode, and he had me at hello. And I don't care how many times he uses the word 'father' in his song, I was (and am) convinced he wanted to shag Buffy. My friend Hazel watched it and tried to persuade me that Giles and Tara would be a beautiful couple, though, so it could all be a personal interpretation thing.

It's now 3:00am - after a lot of tossing and turning I've given up on sleep, even though I'm propping my eyes open with matchsticks. I'm headachey and my throat's sore and I'm pulling a sicky today. Just got to remember to email my supervisor telling him I'm working from home. (This is why I hope I never have to work a 9-to-5 job, because I'd be shit at it.) But yay for working from my bed while watching The Simpsons DVDs.

Dear Yuletide Secret Santa:

I'm fairly easy when it comes to my present. Because yay, present! Whichever of my fandoms you pick, I'm really looking forward to seeing the results.

I'm trying to think of anything that might be helpful. I like humour, dialogue and things kept pretty close to canon, but if you want to write angsty AU darkfic that's entirely in prose: go for it. Holiday fic's always good, but by no means necessary.
