Blech. All my morning at work was spent doing sales calls. I have an irrational phobia of ringing people up and trying to sell them things - in my last admin job I had people (these were company managers mind you, people in business, not people I was annoying at home) being incredibly nasty, one of them reducing me to tears in the middle of the office. I don't mind the slightly patronizing older men who address me as 'wee darlin' ', because they're very laidback and happy to let me do my sales pitch if it gets them out of working for a few minutes. Just save me from the managers and the people who need me to repeat eighteen times what my company sells. Signs! Not hard to remember! It's only five letters! It was a really bad Mel Gibson movie!

Anyway, my office boss is away tomorrow so I'll be left in peace to do my websites, thank god. And by that I mean 'put in a couple of hours of work and spend the rest of the day writing or reading fic' (I take my own laptop to work. Their computers run on Windows 95 and take ten minutes to open a Word file. No way could I install photoshop on it)

And ah, Bill. The news showed a bit of Bill Clinton's speech to the Democrats. Damn, what a showman. My mother and my 60-something aunt both had quite a still-some-wild-oats-to-sow twinkle in their eye when he was onscreen, which was disturbing on several levels. The main one being that I may possibly have a bit of a crush myself.

So who's not going to Writercon? I'll likely be spending all weekend plaing on Tigannie*Con and trying futilely to catch up on ficathon assignments. I'm burned out. But still signing up for [livejournal.com profile] spren_cious's [livejournal.com profile] chloeandlana because one of the planned ficathons is Chloe/m, and that means someone will write me Chlionel. Yes.
