Name stuff, and a challenge
Jul. 6th, 2003 02:01 pmApparently some shop in town has socks on sale for 49p (I can't be bothered to translate that to American... oh, about $0.80). Thing is, they have names printed on them in huge letters, and my name isn't there.
My parents asked if I'd mind terribly changing my name to Emily. Their compelling arguments: the first two letters are the same as my real name; my father calls me Emily half the time anyway; the socks are really really cheap.
When I nixed the Emily thing, my dad tried to persuade me that Jake is quite a nice name for girls too.
I'm currently pretending not to speak to them, because when I washed the dishes after lunch they both did pantomime fainting-and-dying-of-shock.
Kissing Challenge
Since today is National Kissing Day in the UK, I present a fanfic challenge: let one of the Buffy Brits get a snog. Spike, Giles or Wes (or, I suppose, Molly, horrible accent and all), not necessarily with each other.
(ETA: yes, the page I've linked is 2002, but the Daily Mail says that this momentous day is July 6th this year too. And they wouldn't lie to me, would they? Some of the links on google say the 5th, but they're rotten filthy liars.)
