no necissarily costal, there are a lot of cities that have ships and harbours that are miles and miles away form the coast. yes there should have been a river or something, but not necissarily a coast line for an ocean or lake. having said that the most traumatizing thing about the crator, well lets just say i got to see my house fall into it. it still creeps me out to see sunnydale and surrounding areas fall into a big hole.
