Favourite fic bits

This is a meme from wesleysgirl: favourite bits from your own writing.

I'm talking about which sentences or paragraphs you read and think "Okay, look at how nice that is." The bits that make you feel like maybe you really do know what you're doing, after all.

My two favourites are both from fairly recent fics:
